Ben Cunliffe Architects

Having working in London and internationally, Ben Cunliffe returned to the Lake District in 2001 to establish Ben Cunliffe Architects, a unique ‘Design and Build’ architectural practice. Since then BCA has grown exponentially and is now renowned for being at the forefront of design, incorporating our design principles to landscaping schemes.

At the heart of all BCA’s designs is a desire to deliver an ecologically sound building, by incorporating state of the art green technologies, with minimum environmental impact to the surroundings.

BCA imposes no predetermined style or aesthetic on our architectural schemes. Both traditional and contemporary schemes are procured for clients. BCA designs are based on context, function and client requirements and all schemes are driven by their surroundings, structure, orientation and, most importantly, light. Often the structure is expressed and celebrated as part of the design rather than being hidden.

BCA’s passion for architecture can be seen in all our designs, and we were proud to be short listed for both ‘Best Eco-Build’ and ‘Best Conversion House’ in Concept for Living’s 2010 Design Awards.

Being both the designer and principal contractor for more than 50% of our projects allows us to manage our client’s builds in a professional manner from start to finish. In all our procurement roles we work with approved sub-contractors who operate with the same ‘can do’ attitude. Working with residential, public and commercial clients, we are proud to deliver projects on time, to specification and to budget.
