Public Rooms - Reception

A real fire welcomes arrivals, a masterpiece designed by Arthur Simpson, one of the forefathers of the Arts and Crafts movement. When Great Grandmother Cunliffe was purchasing the house in 1917, the sellers removed the fireplace unbeknown to her, and (thankfully!) she refused to complete unless it was returned.
