Gardens - The Croquet lawn

Originally a lawn tennis court, we found the lawn equally useful for croquet, a sport more in keeping with a relaxed ambience and a glass of Pimm’s. Most of the Junior Suites open onto this south- and west-facing garden.

A large terrace and pond and waterfall were added in 2006, with water cascading down from the Garden Suite ponds. On the west side of the lawn, we added a llama paddock, often something of a surprise for guests checking into their Junior Suites! A magnificent beech tree dominates this lawn, providing a spectacle of colour in autumn. The Junior Suites have patios with tables and chairs outside each room, and sun loungers fringe the lawn in summer.
