From the North or South
Leave the M6 at junction 36. Take the A590 dual carriageway, which becomes the A591, following signs for 'South Lakes'.
At the roundabout just north of Kendal, take the first exit - which is the B5284, signposted 'Hawkshead via Ferry and Crook'.
Gilpin Lodge is 5 miles along there on the right hand side, clearly signposted on the road.
Directions from Manchester Airport
Join the M56 (westbound) at Junction 5, and then turn onto the M6 northbound at Junction 19. Leave the M6 at junction 36. Take the A590 dual carriageway, which becomes the A591, following signs for 'South Lakes'.
