The Lake House Suites - Gertie Suite

All Lake House Suites are open plan bedroom and lounges with en suite bathrooms, luxurious toiletries and exceptional views. All are equipped with flat screen TVs, DVDs, and tea and coffee trays.

The Lake House Spa and 100 acres of grounds are for the exclusive use of Lake House guests. Facilities include a myriad of treatments, a traditional sauna and heated indoor swimming pool with views towards the cedarwood hot tub on the lake edge. (Spa treatments will be discussed at the time of booking).

Breakfast is served in the conservatory; afternoon tea is served daily at 3pm. Dinner is served at Gilpin Hotel and a chauffeur will take you and collect you at your convenience.

Unique feature

The Gertie Suite faces east and has magnificent views down the Lyth Valley, reaching as far as the Morecambe Bay coast on a clear day; watching the sun rise through this misty valley is a perfect start to the day, accompanied by a cup of tea in bed. Another large window shows distant views over the Shap mountains, often snow clad in winter; in the foreground enjoy the kitchen gardens, with vibrant coloured flowers grown for the hotel.

Interior Design notes

This bedroom was conceived through the highly polished blonde veneers of the furniture suite, with hand printed gold wallpaper from Knowles & Christou and high buttoned chenille bed head. Two period armchairs sit happily on the muted colours of the Zeigler rug and Colefax & Fowler checked footstools.
