Afternoon Tea

Afternoon tea seems to be enjoying a revival and Gilpin Lodge was written up in the Mail on Saturday as the ideal place to enjoy it: "An elegant tea at Gilpin Lodge is the perfect way to round off a Lake District walk. This Lakeland house offers a proper tea, including finger sandwiches and hot drop scones..." A word of warning – don't have afternoon tea if you are planning to have dinner before midnight!

Tea and Coffee

We have a variety of teas (see our speciality tea menu), as well as fruit and herbal infusions.
Or perhaps a cafetière of Farrers' coffee?

Sweet and Savoury

Finger sandwiches of cream cheese and cucumber, and smoked salmon

Gilpin Lodge special potted Flookburgh shrimps with toast

Freshly made drop scones and a fruit
scone served with jam, butter and cream

Fruit cake with Lancashire cheese

Date and walnut slice

Banana bread

Coffee and walnut roulade

Lemon meringue tartlet
