Enjoy a Michelin starred lunch for just £20 for three-courses (normally £25) during the Cumbria Life Food and Drink Festival (Monday 1st May - Saturday 6th May)

An exquisite lunch, a relaxed afternoon

Join us for lunch during the festival - or indeed, any day of the year - and luxuriate in tranquillity for the rest of the day. Enjoy apéritifs on the terrace. Then, to your table, with fresh flowers, crisp linen, gleaming silver, and superb food. While away the remainder of the afternoon relaxing in the comfort of the lounges or wandering around the beautiful gardens, for which we were awarded ‘Best Garden’ by the RAC.

Always passionate about using local produce

The Lakeland menu, making much use of Cumbrian produce, will offer a choice of:

First Course

Salad of baby vegetables, quails’ eggs, cherry tomatoes and garden leaves
Shellfish bisque flavoured with Bourbon vanilla
Roasted sweetbreads of Lakeland lamb, with a sherry vinegar glaze and dressed leaves
Baked goat’s cheese with beetroot and lambs leaf salad

Main Course

Poached breast of free-range chicken with Charlotte potatoes and a morel cream
Roasted sea trout with peas à la Français and a red wine syrup
Braised featherblade of Belted Galloway with potato purée and baby vegetables
Pan-fried sea bream with a ragout of curried mussels

Dessert

Passion fruit soufflé with chocolate sauce
Fromage frais with summer berries
Peach Melba
A selection of English and French cheeses
